Frequently Asked Questions
what are the early signs of pregnancy?
These are some of the most common early signs of pregnancy:
- Late or missed period
- Tender, swollen breasts
- Food cravings or aversions
- Mood swings
If you’re experiencing any of the above symptoms, it’s important not to assume you’re pregnant. The only way to know for sure is through a lab-quality pregnancy test and ultrasound.
why do I need an ultrasound?
An ultrasound reveals the location of the pregnancy, if there is fetal cardiac activity (a heartbeat), and confirms how far along you are in the pregnancy.
when should I take a pregnancy test?

is abortion legal in Dayton, Ohio?
Yes. The following restrictions are in place in Ohio to protect you and your health as you consider this procedure:
- Women must receive state-mandated counseling and then wait 24 hours before having an abortion.
- Medication abortion must be provided following FDA protocols.
- Parents of minors must give consent prior to an abortion.
- Women must receive an ultrasound prior to receiving an abortion.
- Abortions after 22 weeks gestation are only available when the woman’s life is in danger.
how much does an abortion cost?
The cost of an abortion is determined by the gestational age of your pregnancy. We provide free limited ultrasounds to determine if you have a viable uterine pregnancy (you are pregnant and it is not an ectopic pregnancy) and the gestational age of your pregnancy.
An abortion can cost anywhere from $550 – $1,100 in Ohio. Medication abortions (the abortion pill) are usually priced at the lower end of that pricing spectrum, while surgical abortions are priced at the higher end.
Although we do not perform abortions, we offer free and confidential counseling on abortion and your other options so you can make the best decision for you.
do you provide plan b?
We do not provide Plan B at our pregnancy center. If you’re considering taking Plan B you should know that it is not the abortion pill and should not be taken while pregnant. We can provide a pregnancy test to confirm you are not pregnant before you take Plan B.
can I order the abortion pill online?
FDA protocols require a doctor’s prescription for the abortion pill. Ohio law also requires this to protect women from potentially harmful pills ordered online and to ensure the abortion pill is taken during the correct window of time during pregnancy ( which is prior to 10 weeks). With our free ultrasounds, you can learn how far along you are in your pregnancy.
